2013 Pete Schmucker's Checker Meet

I was informed by Crist Miller that most of the Amish players from the Ohio area would be sharing rides to play the Indiana group. They plan to arrive Friday afternoon for three rounds of 3-Move and follow up playing three or four more rounds Saturday morning, finishing early Saturday evening. This Lagrange County, Indiana checker get-together will serve as a "tune-up" for the Mid-Ohio Meet. They may schedule a couple more small group checker gatherings before the August 16^th & 17^th Meet. All the top players from Ohio and Indiana will be there, so bring a friend and join the fun! Joe Weaver, Crist Miller, Harvey Hochstetler, Aden Keim, and John Troyer drove the 300 mile northwestern trip together into northeastern Indiana to meet up with others. Kenny Miller, Pete Schmucker and 5 to 7 more Indiana players are expected. Incidentally Pete lives about 4 miles from Davis Mercantile where Indiana/District 6 will be held August 23 & 24 this year.

"T" separates player's opponent from player's game points. Draw is 1, Win is 2 points, Bye is 3, and Forfeit is 4.

We played two-games of 3-Move, Round Robin - two players didn't finish all their rounds so 2 points were added to those couple of rounds to balance rounds for scoring points.

Aden Keim and Joe Weaver tied on game points; however, Aden won his round with Joe by a win and a draw.

They figure honor points as who got the most points of the total points between the tied opponents when they played. each other "Head - To - Head." Keim got 3 of the 4 points, and Yoder got 6 of the possible 12 and Lambright got 5 of the possible 12 points.

Most of the players were Amish.

There was no prize money. (Entry fees went to a charity) 1st place got a beautiful hand-made wooden step stool.

Crist Miller submitted tournament total points and Pete Schmucker, Tournament Director submitted the player's individual round by round performance which is necessary to rate a player.
